AirAsia Zest, previously known as Zest Airways has merged into AirAsia Philippines in January 2016 and it now operates the wider name of AirAsia Philippines. The former airline was a low-cost airline that was based at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Pasay City, Metro Manila in the Philippines. AirAsia Philippines now operate a fleet of Airbus A320-200 and it is part of a frequent flyer programme known as BIG (a global program for AirAsia).

How to Check In

Counter check-in is available two hours to 45 minutes prior to departure for domestic flights, and three hours to one hour before departure for international flights. A service fee will be charged for passengers who will check-in at the airport check-in counters. Aside from the traditional check-in counters at the airport, AirAsia Zest passengers also have the convenience of checking in online for free via web check-in and mobile check-in. Web and mobile check-in are available from 14 days up to one hour before the scheduled time of departure. When checking in via web check-in, passengers should print out the boarding pass and proceed to the baggage drop/document check counter to get the documents verified before proceeding to the security check point. Along with the printed boarding pass, required documents to be presented include passport/IC and Visa (if any). Via mobile check-in, AirAsia Zest passengers will receive an SMS to their mobile number to confirm check-in. At the airport, proceed to the 2D barcode scanner or self-check-in kiosks and scan the 2D barcode received via SMS. Upon scanning, the boarding pass will be printed. Passengers are then to proceed to the baggage drop/document check counter for verification of documents. The self-check-in privilege is applicable to all AirAsia Zest guests except for pregnant women, those who are travelling with infants, passengers with reduced mobility and with special needs, passengers who are below 16 years old and are travelling alone, guests with medical condition/illnesses, and more than nine passengers travelling in one booking number via Mobile/Kiosk Check-In. These types of passengers are advised to proceed to the check-in counters at the airport. After self-check-in via web or mobile, passengers can make changes regarding meals, picking a seat, flight changes, upsizing checked baggage, and many others.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Checked baggage can be pre-booked at a discounted rate when booking online, or at standard rate at the airport check-in counters. Each checked baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 81cm x 119cm x 119cm and weight of 32kg. Checked baggage weight can only be shared with passengers in the same booking number; and each item must weigh less than 32kg and is subject to occupational health and safety requirements. Baby buggies, prams, strollers, and other mobility devices can be checked in for free. Passengers checking in baggage which exceeds the pre-booked allowance are subject to an excess baggage fee on a per kilogram basis. Each passenger is also allowed one piece of cabin baggage and one laptop bag or one handbag on-board. Cabin baggage must not exceed the dimensions of 56cm x 36cm x 23cm and weight of 7kg.

Booking Fees

AirAsia in general, including AirAsia Zest, has more than one payment channel and accepts most currencies to suit every passenger’s needs. Visa and MasterCard are accepted for all currencies, while Amex is accepted only for MYR, THB, USD, SGD, and HKD; JCB for JPY and THB; and Union Pay is accepted only for THB. Note that a processing fee applies per guest per way. For AirAsia Zest, direct debit is available through Dragonpay Corporation. Payment partners in the Philippines also include Bayad centres, Cebuana Lhuillier, 7-Eleven, Robinsons, e.cpay, and The SM Store.

Inflight Food

AirAsia Zest inflight meals comprise of Asian, international, and vegetarian choices to suit every passenger’s needs and preferences. Online pre-booked meals are discounted, although are not available if bookings are made 24 hours before departure time. Changes to pre-booked meals can only be made more than 24 hours prior to departure time and passengers must pay the price difference if the price of the new meal booked is higher than the original meal paid. The boarding pass serves as proof of purchase of pre-booked meal and is to be presented to the cabin crew to redeem the meal.
