Why Fly with Malaysia Airlines

Malaysia Airlines’ web and mobile check-in service is available 48 hours up to 90 minutes before departure time. The airline accepts printed boarding pass, mobile boarding passes, or through the Apple Passbook. However, check with the airline’s website if Apple Passbook or mobile boarding passes are accepted. Passengers in Kuala Lumpur who are traveling to the airport via the KLIA Ekspres train service can check-in ahead at the KL Sentral station. Please allow ample time at the airport if you have baggage to check in at the airport bag drop counters. For those traveling to multiple stops on flights operated by Malaysia Airlines and connecting with Oneworld or codeshare partners, you can have your bags checked through to your final destination when you check in at the airport counter.

Payment Methods

You can choose from various payment methods to purchase a ticket online. Malaysia Airlines accepts major credit cards (MasterCard / Visa / American Express), direct bank debit (Maybank / CIMB), Alipay, and PayPal.

Malaysia Airlines charges fees for preferred seat selection in Economy Class. Seat selection will vary depending on flight route and is not available for connecting flights and codeshare flights. The seat selection fee starts from RM11 to RM50 for standard seats and from RM22 to RM150 for emergency exit seats. You can do the seat selection at the time of booking or any time before check-in opens. Seat selection is free for passengers traveling in First Class or Business Class and for Enrich Platinum members.

Baggage Allowance

The checked baggage allowance for all destinations varies according to cabin class. First Class passengers are given complimentary 50 kg of checked baggage allowance, Business Class 40 kg, and Economy Class 30 kg. Infants are also entitled to free 10 kg of checked baggage allowance. Extra baggage allowance is also given to Enrich members. Prepaid excess baggage may be purchased up to 72 hours prior to flight departure at 20% cheaper than airport rates. Carry-on baggage allowances are 7 kg for a single bag for Economy Class and 2 bags with a maximum weight of 14 kg for both Business Class and First Class.

In-Flight Services

Light snacks or hot meals and a choice of beverage is complimentary on all Malaysian Airlines flights.
