KLM (Royal Dutch Airlines), is the national airline of the Netherlands, headquartered in Amstelveen. Its hub is at Amsterdam Airport Schiphol. The airline flies to 130 destinations with its mixed fleet of Boeing and Airbus aircrafts. KLM is a member of the SkyTeam airline alliance and it also has its own frequent-flyer program called Flying Blue.

How to Check In

Online check-in
Check-in online via mobile phone or The KLM app from 30 hours to 1 hour before departure. For flights to the US, online check-in is available from 24 hours before departure. On most flights, you can receive an electronic boarding pass on your mobile phone.
Check-in at the airport
For check-in via the self-service machines or at the desk, you may do it 3 hours before departure until 40 minutes (Europe) or 60 minutes (intercontinental) before your flight. Passengers travelling from Delhi, Paramaribo, Lagos and Mexico City are recommended to check in 4.5 hours before departure. For online check-in, app check-in or via a self-service machine, drop off bags at a self-service machine or a regular drop-off point for check-in.

On all classes, children are entitled the same allowance as adults, with an addition of 1 fully collapsible pram. Passengers travelling with children younger than 2 years have additional baggage allowance 1 carry-on bag not more than 12 kg and 55 x 35 x 25 cm in size 1 check-in bag not more than 10 kg For certain KLM flights within Europe, the baggage allowance is hand baggage only. Special memberships such as Flying Blue Silver-, Gold- and Platinum members and SkyTeam Elite- and Elite Plus-members can bring 2 pieces of check-in baggage of the same dimensions and weight. All seats on KLM are ergonomically designed with good recline. Business Class passengers enjoy high levels of privacy with a full-flat seat and a 17-inch personal entertainment screen. Economy Comfort enjoys extra 8 cm of legroom compared to Economy Class. Seats with extra legroom in the exit row are also available. Seat reservation can be done 90 days before flight departure by logging on to the My Trip page on, except for certain membership holders and cabin classes. Passengers with Flying Blue Platinum, Gold or Silver status and passengers with a Full Flex Economy ticket can reserve seats directly at the time of booking for a fee of SGD$30.43 (USD 21.51). In-seat power is available on Boeing 737, 777, 787 and most A330 aircrafts.

Inflight services

KLM’s newest in-flight entertainment service offers over 200 films, television shows, CDs, language courses and audio books. Notably, the system has a “seat chat” app so you can communicate with other passengers seated elsewhere on the same flight. KLM offers complimentary food for all cabin classes. Economy Class flyers on long-haul flights can choose to have a hot meal and a dessert, while those flying short-haul can enjoy a sandwich instead. Business Class are served cuisines by Dutch top chef Jonnie Boer, elegantly presented on on designer tableware. Special meals such as vegetarian, Muslim and Kosher are available.
