Why Fly with Etihad Airways

How to Check In

Etihad Airways offers convenient ways for passengers to check-in. Guests can check-in online (as long as it is on Etihad Airways and not a partner airline) from 24 hours to two hours before departure. Just follow the instructions, choose your preferred seat, and print your boarding pass to be presented at the Bag Drop counter at the airport. Note that without a printed boarding pass, you may experience delays. Present your six-digit Etihad Airways PNR (Booking Reference Number) and the 12-digit Etihad Guest Number upon check-in, along with all proper documents. Mobile boarding passes are also considered another convenient option. Using your Internet-enabled mobile device, you can access your mobile boarding pass, and complete your online check-in (at least three hours before departure). You may also opt to have your pass sent to you via email or have it stored on Passbook (for iPhone users). A screenshot of the pass is also recommended, since you’ll need to have the 2D barcode scanned. This service is available in select cities only. City check-in is also available, where you can check-in 24 hours in advance and have your baggage checked in and receive your boarding pass. However, this service is currently unavailable for US-bound guests, guests with reduced mobility, unaccompanied minors, and guests travelling on waitlisted tickets.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

For baggage allowance, passengers should be guided accordingly. The maximum dimensions allowed for checked baggage are 158cm (50 x 70 x 38) for flights to and from the US, Canada, and Brazil; and 207cm (45 x 72 x 90) for other destinations. Each item must not exceed 32kg. For Etihad Guest members (not applicable for flights to/from US, Canada, and Brazil), checked baggage allowance is up to 32kg in weight and must not exceed dimensions of 207cm (45 x 72 x 90). For hand baggage or carry-on allowance, each item must not exceed dimensions of 111cm (40 x 50 x 21). If travelling with an infant (carried in either a carrycot or a car seat), items like bedding, napkins, and feeding bottles and sufficient food for the journey may be carried free of charge provided the total weight (excluding the infant) does not exceed 5kg.
