Baggage Allowance & Fees

For international and regional routes, the free baggage allowance is up to two pieces (each baggage must not exceed 23kg) for Economy class, up to two pieces of 32kg each for Premium Economy class and Business class, and up to three pieces of 32 kg each for First class. Free baggage allowance for domestic routes is 20kg for Economy class, 30kg for Business class, and 40kg for First class. Each infant should be with an adult and is entitled to one folded portable baby carriage or handcart, free of charge. Passengers flying Business Class and Economy Class are allowed 1 piece of hand carry baggage. First Class passengers are allowed two pieces. Hand carry bags should not exceed 10kg.

China Eastern Airlines takes care of its passengers. The airline accepts and assumes responsibility for unaccompanied children. Tickets for unaccompanied children on international flights are purchased at the same rate as that of an adult's; while for domestic flights, the ticket is only 50% of the adult price. Parents or guardians are required to be at the airport prior to the flight and until the airplane takes off. They must also undergo the carriage procedure in place of said minors. If the travelling minor needs to go through transfer flights, the airline must be informed in advance. Only children between 5 and 12 years of age are accepted as unaccompanied minors. China Eastern Airlines Corporation also accepts ill, disabled, and pregnant passengers if there is no threat to the safety of the other passengers on board. All persons in need of assistance, such as those with physical or mental disability or sickness, the elderly, or the pregnant, are advised to inform the airline for their exact needs for assistance prior to the flight. The airline reserves the right to refuse passengers with infectious diseases, are terminally ill, may cause damage to others, possess a peculiar odour or habit/s, or who may cause disturbance to the other passengers. In most cases, the passenger is required to present a Certificate of Diagnosis with a seal from a third-grade hospital within 96 hours prior to the time of travel. Pregnant passengers must present a medical note stating that they are fit to travel.
