Why fly with Japan Airlines

Check In

JAL has an online check-in system. Passengers are able to choose their own seats and have their boarding passes issued online. This allows passengers to directly drop off their baggage at the Fast Baggage Drop counter and proceed for security checks. Those without printers need not fret as there is an option to receive a Mobile Boarding Pass through your handheld device. Additionally, passengers can check in at the airport by queuing at the check-in counters or through the self check-in counters (only available in Narita, Kansai and Haneda International Airports).

Baggages Allowances & Fees

Each passenger is only allowed one carry-on hand luggage of up to 10kg and it must be able to fit under the seat in front. For check-in baggage, JAL provides a generous amount of up to 2 pieces of 23kg each for economy class passengers and up to 3 pieces of 32kg each for business class passengers.

From Economy class to First class, the seats are all ergonomically designed for maximum comfort in each class. Economy class seats are thinner and wider than an average seat for more leg room and crossing of legs. All seats are also fitted with a power point and USB point to cater to the needs of the connected passengers. An additional class called the Premium Economy is also now available for those who prefer a bit more space for comfort but do not want to pay a Business class fare. A Premium Economy class seat includes a 10cm increased leg space and seat slide for better resting angle.

In-flight Services

JAL provides passengers with a wide range of in-flight entertainment. Named "MAGIC", the in-flight entertainment system is a 10.6 inch touchscreen panel with remote control, loaded with movies, audio tracks and games to keep you entertained for hours. Staying true to Japanese culture is "SKY MANGA" that has over 100 titles of comics in Japanese and English, and with the easy browsing system allowing full view and enlarged view, you could turn your seat into a comic book shop!
