Emirates Flights

Emirates is the fourth largest airline in the world (in terms of scheduled passenger-kilometres flown) based in Dubai. It operates an all-wide-body aircraft fleet made up of a mix of Airbus and Boeing aircrafts. Emirates is not part of the top three global airline alliances - Star Alliance, oneworld, and SkyTeam. However, it has an award-winning frequent flyer program called Skywards. Membership to Skywards is free.
The airline offers three cabin classes:

Why fly with Emirates

Check-in

Online Check-in
Online check-in via the website or The Emirates app opens 48 hours before flight departure. Print your boarding pass or get a mobile boarding pass on your phone and simply drop your bags at the baggage drop counter before heading to security.
Check-in at the airport
At the airport, check in via self check-in kiosks or at the airport counters. Check-in opens 3 hours and closes 90 minutes before flight departure. When checking in, bring necessary documents such as your passport, itinerary, credit card used for booking, and any other travel documents (e.g. visa).

Seating

Booking seats in advance is free for First Class, Business Class and Economy Class (Flex or Flex Plus) travellers and members of Emirates Skywards or Qantas Frequent Flyer (Gold or Platinum). It can be done via Manage a Booking page on Emirates.com from the moment you purchase your tickets or later. For Economy Class Special and Saver fare travellers, seat reservation costs between SGD$18 (USD 12.72) and SGD$54.10 (USD 38.23). The fee applies for each flight segment for connecting flights. Children aged between two and 11 years who are travelling with at least one adult enjoys a 50% discount on seat reservation. All of Emirates aircrafts, with the exception of A330 and A340 aircrafts, have free Wi-Fi, mobile phone and data roaming service, so you can stay connected when you fly.

Despite the generous allowances, do take note that if you’re on a flight in or out of Dubai, Dubai Civil Aviation prohibits the acceptance of baggage weighing more than 32 kg each into and out of or via Dubai International Airport. Infants are entitled to 10 kg of hand carry baggage and up to 23 kg of checked baggage. Parents may bring one portable cot or one fully collapsible stroller on board if cabin space is available. Inflight services

Emirates’ award-winning Ice in-flight entertainment provides over 2500 channels of movies, TV shows, music and games. Kids can also enjoy popular cartoons and games. The complimentary catering service serves regionally inspired food and drinks. First Class and Business Class enjoy exquisite food on demand, presented on Royal Doulton fine bone china with exclusive Robert Welch cutlery. Special meals (for e.g. Muslim, Kosher, Vegetarian, Hindu, Diabetic) can be booked in advance. Kosher and Muslim meals should be booked at least 48 hours in advance. Others should be booked at least 24 hours in advance. Emirates has an all-rounded Unaccompanied Minor service for children aged between 5 and 15. From departure to arrival, ground staff will help to take care of the children. Conditions apply for connecting flights.
