AirAsia offers no less than four ways to check in and print baggage tags:

Online check-in opens 14 days prior to departure. Closure time is 1 hour before takeoff for AirAsia flights and 4 hours before for AirAsia X flights. For AirAsia flights departing from Kuala Lumpur International Airport T2, it is compulsory to check in and bag-tag via web or mobile app. Those ineligible* for an e-boarding pass will receive a 2D barcode to scan at the kiosk or check-in counter. *Pregnant passengers, travellers with infants, solo travellers under 16 years of age, and other guests requiring special assistance must check in at the counter.

Inflight services

Onboard meals and snacks vary according to fare type. The value pack brings you a sandwich on A320 flights and a hot meal on A330 flights. Check out the hot meals menu for your flight here. Vegetarian options are available on all flights, but only I5 flights offer vegetarian value packs. All food and beverages that AirAsia serves (except on AirAsia Japan and Philippines AirAsia flights) are halal-certified.

Onboard duty-free shopping is available on all flights. AirAsia flights to Australia also offer the Xcite Tab as an add-on. The tablet filled with movies, TV series, music, games, and magazines will entertain bored adults and restless children alike. Pre-booking will secure you one of the limited units available and also save you SGD 3.55 (USD 2.50) off the onboard price of SGD 19.38 (USD 14).

Flatbed seats come with a free pillow and blanket. Pillows and blankets are also available to other seat types for a fee. The exact price will be reflected on your booking page; you can also add upgrades after you make your booking via the “manage your booking” page.

Excess baggage
AirAsia levies charges per kg in excess of the pre-booked allowance according to this fee schedule. Baggage check-in must be completed at least 45-60 minutes before takeoff, depending on the airport of departure. Members can earn AirAsia BIG Points for dollars spent when baggage is pre-booked.
