Nok Air Flights

The yellow beak is an easily recognisable icon of Nok Air. Nok means bird in the Thai language, symbolising friendship and freedom to travel. "We Fly Smiles" -- the slogan of Nok Air may seem to suggest that every flight is a happy one. Smiling through the Thai skies, Nok Air is the largest airline serving the domestic market with the most number of domestic routes. Initially a low-cost branch of Thai Airways, Nok Air has been able to sustain itself independently through its large flight numbers. Interestingly, Nok Air also flies to various locations in Myanmar. Nok Air is the official sponsor for TTM Chiangmai, Hatyai FC and Chiangmai FC, various football clubs in Thailand.

Why fly with Nok Air


With a number of ways to check in with Nok Air including the usual airport check-in, web check-in and telephone check-in, Nok Air offers a convenient mobile check-in with their mobile phone application service. A mobile check-in allows you to check in in less than 2 minutes and your phone will be your boarding pass - no need for boarding pass authentication at the counters at all! Mobile check-in is also available from 24 hours to 30 minutes before departure, allowing flexibility. Another way of checking in may excite shoppers for its novel Check and Shop service. It is a new service for passengers travelling from Chiangmai located at the Chiang Mai Central Airport Plaza, where flyers can check in at the "Nok Air Check & Shop" to receive the boarding pass. Nok Air will also provide a transfer service between Chiang Mai Central Airport Plaza and Chiang Mai International Airport 1 hour prior to departure -- a luxury service for a low-cost airline!

Baggage Allowances

Nok Air provides free check-in baggage allowance of up to 30kg depending on the class of travel and type of passenger. Passengers who booked the Nok Eco and Nok Flexi classes have more allowance than a promotional class, and those who are Fan Club and Smile Plus members also are given more. More check-in space should be purchased during the booking of flight tickets to prevent extra charges being incurred for excess baggage. Hand-carry luggage has a limit of 7kg and must be able to fit under the seat in front.


Seat selection with Nok Air is easy with its interactive website. You can make your seat selection as early as 90 days prior to departure, giving you and your friends ample time to discuss where to sit on board and take advantage of the early booking perks!

In-flight Services

Snacks are sold on board with though a complimentary snack, Nok Kanom, will be served to all passengers. Passengers can patronise the Nok Smile Shop, a Nok Air souvenir shop selling merchandise such as toy planes and pillows, which may contribute to the increased comfort in flight.

Additional Information

Nok Air provides various "Fly n Ferry" and "Fly n Ride" service as well for the more inaccessible locations. Now island locations off the coast of Thailand as well as certain places in Laos can be more easily travelled to from Thailand with its seamless transportation services. Nok Air goes beyond the basic functions of an airline and its impeccable service standard is one that puts other low-cost carriers to shame. Additionally, a recent tie-up with Singapore's low-cost carrier Scoot resulted in NokScoot. We may be seeing more of Nok Air in the future!
