Why fly with Korean Air

Web check-in is available for certain Korean Air flights, and will be open for use 48 hours before the scheduled departure time of the flight. After going through the online check-in process, some passengers will be able to self-print their boarding passes so they need only drop their baggage off upon arrival at the airport. In other cases, though, passengers will only be able to print an ‘exchange voucher’ which will need to be exchanged for an actual boarding pass at the airport check-in counter. Please refer to the Korean Air website to find out if web check-in is available for your flight.

The option to pre-select one’s seat is available during the online booking procedure, and passengers can log-in to the system to amend their preference until 48 hours before the scheduled departure of the flight. However, the airline reserves the right to move passengers to different seats with no prior notice. All Korean Air Economy class seats come with a seat pitch of 18 inches.

Baggage Allowances

All Economy class passengers on Korean Air flights are given a complimentary hand baggage allowance of 12kg, as well as 23-32kg for check-in baggage (depending on flight duration). Luggage that exceeds the weight limit will be subjected to excess-baggage charges, which can range from USD75-200 (again depending on the certain conditions). Special baggage handling options are also available for those travelling with sports or musical equipment. Please refer to the Korean Air website for more details.

Frequent Flyer Programme

Korean Air has many arrangements with other airlines, such as codeshare agreements and frequent-flyer programme contracts. With over 20 codeshare agreements, you may find yourself flying on board a Korean Air fleet even if you have booked tickets with another airline. When you fly with Korean Air, not only can you enjoy miles with Korean Air’s SKYPASS, you also earn miles for Skywards and Enrich, the frequent flyer programme for Emirates and Malaysian Airlines.

In-flight services

Passengers on Korean Air flights have complimentary access to its AVOD (audio and video on demand) inflight entertainment system, Sky Program, which offers a selection of movies, music and games. In-flight meals and a snack service are also complimentary, and usually include a range of local and international foods.
