Lao Airlines Flights

The flagship airline of Wattay International Airport, Lao Airlines transports passengers to different parts of Laos and some of the most popular cities in East Asia. Although a small airline compared to its more popular counterparts in the region, Lao Airlines manages to hold its own in domestic and international aviation. It has recently purchased two Airbus A320 aircraft, which expand the collection of aircraft belonging to Lao Airlines.

This commercial flight carrier started out in 1976 when the Civil Aviation Company formed from the partnership between Royal Air Lao and Lao Air Lines. It then became Lao Aviation in 1979, carrying a mixed fleet of Western planes and helicopters. More equipment followed from China and the Soviet Union at this time, which allowed for the expansion of the flight line-up. Lao Airlines is on its way to further expansion with more flights to be offered in the coming years. Flight services to Bangkok, Hanoi, and Phnom Penh followed this increasing trend, which boosted air traffic in the region.
