Why Fly with Ethiopian Airlines

How to Check In

There are two ways to check-in: at the airport or online. Check-in counters at the airport are open at least four hours prior to departure and close one hour before take-off. The time shown on the tickets is the departure time of the aircraft. Therefore, passengers are requested to proceed to the check-in counter at least three hours before the departure. Web check-in is also available, from 48 hours to two hours before departure for international flights, and from 24 hours to two hours before departure for domestic flights. In order to use web check-in, passengers should go to Ethiopian Airlines' website and click web check-in. Enter your name, the departure city, and Frequent Flyer Number. You will be shown the seat assigned to you, and you can now choose whether to keep or change the seat. The next page is information on hazardous materials that are not allowed on the aircraft during the flight. Read and confirm if you have no plans of carrying any of the listed materials. Failure to comply may have legal implications. You will also be asked to declare the number of baggage you intend to bring for check-in, excluding the carry-on baggage. Click ‘Check-in’ to see your boarding pass. If all information is correct, print two copies of the boarding pass and present it at the airport. All passengers are required to present the proper travel documents before being allowed on the aircraft.

Inflight Food

Passengers are offered complementary beverages on-board on all flights regardless of ticket class. The food served is usually hot meals, hot or cold snacks, or light refreshments, depending on the time of the day and the length of the flight. Assorted menus are available for passengers with special dietary requirements.

Inflight Entertainment

Ethiopian Airlines offers an excellent selection of inflight entertainment. Those who prefer to sit back and relax with some good music can choose among playlists with various artists, from Ethiopian music to jazz, chart hits, classic rock, country hits, easy listening, golden oldies, and more. There are plenty of TV shows to choose from as well, including several seasons of The Big Bang Theory, Bones, Glee, The Tomorrow People, 2 Broke Girls, and Modern Family.
