AirAsia X Flights

AirAsia X Berhad, previously known as FlyAsianXpress Sdn. Bhd. and operating as AirAsia X-Malaysia, is a medium- and long-haul budget airline based in Malaysia, and a sister company of main AirAsia. It was the brainchild of AirAsia head Tony Fernandes, providing low-cost services for use of the greater demographic. It commenced operations on November of 2007, with its first service flying to Gold Coast Airport in Australia from Kuala Lumpur International Airport in Malaysia. Since then, AirAsia X flies to regional destinations, mainly to Asia and Australia. It operates a fleet of 18 aircraft and has placed orders for more. AirAsia X serves as the medium- and long-haul operation of the brand AirAsia, which is Asia's “largest low-cost carrier.” The franchise, along with other brands AirAsia Cargo and AirAsia Go, is able to keep costs down by using a common ticketing system, aircraft livery, employee uniforms, and management style. Another factor is that the management of AirAsia chooses airports that are of low cost, so as not to add to the cost of tickets. The airline operates with “incredibly” cheap prices, and runs with its slogan, “Now Everyone Can Fly Xtra long.”
