Sichuan Airlines Co. Ltd is a regional airline headquartered at Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport in Chengdu, Sichuan in China. Its fleet consists of Airbus aircrafts primarily and a small number of Comac and Xi’an aircrafts. The airline offers domestic flights within China, regional routes in Asia and international flights from China. Sichuan Airlines does not belong to any airline alliances. Its frequent flyer programme is called the Golden Panda Club. The airline offers three cabin classes:

How to Check In

Online Check-in
Online check-in is only available for domestic flights. It can be done after 2 pm daily and closes 2 hours before flight departure. As Sichuan Airline’s English website is not as comprehensive as its Chinese one, it is recommended that international travellers check in at the airport in person.
Checking in at the airport
At the airport, you can check in at self-service kiosks or at the airport counters. Check-in opens 3 hours and closes 40 minutes before flight departure. When checking in, please have your passport, booking reference and other travel documents (e.g. visa) ready.

Seating

There are only two seat classes for Sichuan Airlines. One is called the Business class, while the other is the more common Economy class.

Inflight Services

For flights that are more than 2 hours and timed during mealtimes, the airline provides complimentary meals and drinks. True to its origin, there will be traditional Sichuan mala sauces (a spicy and numbing sauce made with Sichuan peppercorn) to accompany meals. Special meals such as Muslim, vegetarian, gluten-free, low-calorie and kid’s meals (for children aged between 2 and 7) can be pre-booked at the point of booking the flight. Do take note that kosher meals are not available. In-flight entertainment is available in the form of TV and films. Do note that most of the entertainment is in Chinese. Complimentary newspapers such as Sichuan daily, Chengdu Business Times and other magazines and publications are also available.
