Online check-in
Online check-in via web, mobile or the British Airways app opens 24 hours before flight departure. After checking in online, deposit your bags at the airport’s Bag Drop Desk.
Checking in at the airport
Check-in counters at the airport, open 3 hours before flight departure and close 60 minutes before flight departs. Have your boarding pass, identification and other travel documents (e.g. visa) ready for a smooth check-in.

Overweight bags between 23-32 kg cost SGD$117.30 (USD 83) per bag and one way within Europe. For international connecting flights, the passenger pays overweight baggage costs for one flight segment, which is the segment that costs more.
Bags over 32 kg cannot be checked in and must be shipped by cargo, either via IAG Cargo or an alternative freight service. Do double-check with British Airways’ Baggage Essentials page.


Advance seat reservation is possible at the time of booking or later through the online Manage My Booking page. First Class travellers and Executive Club members reserve their seats for free. For Economy Class, seat reservation starts from SGD$12.60 (USD 9). For Business Class, seat reservation starts at SGD$36.10 (USD 25.50). British Airways will try their best to seat families together. Exit row seats with extra legroom on the Economy Class are available for long-haul flights starting from SGD$90.30 (USD 64). To book these seats, you must be willing and able to assist during emergencies.

In-flight Services

British Airway's in-flight entertainment service, High Life, offers movies, shopping on board and in-flight magazines. Catering services are provided for long-haul flights and all Business and First Class flights. From January 2017, Economy Class and Premium Economy Class of flights under 8 hours will not be served complimentary food. Instead, a chargeable “M&S on board” menu will be available. Special meals such as Vegetarian, Kosher, Muslim, Diabetic, Low-Cholesterol and Children meals (for children aged 2 to 12) are available. Kosher and Muslim meals must be ordered 48 hours in advance while other special meals require at least 24 hours in advance.
