flydubai Flights

Dubai Aviation Corporation, trading as Flydubai (styled to all small letters to read “flydubai”), is a low-cost airline basing its operations in Terminal 2 of the Dubai International Airport. The airline operates a fleet of 45 aircraft, steering them to a total of 83 destinations across the Middle East, North Africa, East Africa, the Indian subcontinent, Asia, and Eastern Europe from its base.

Born in July 2008 as a Government-established low-cost airline, Flydubai commenced operations a year after (June 2009) its foundation through flight services going to Beirut (Lebanon) and Amman (Jordan).    Although the airline is not part of the Emirates group, Emirates supported Flydubai during the airline's initial establishing phase, and has since then grew into what is now one of the biggest names in the local aviation industry, with special focus on providing low-cost yet quality fares.

Why Fly with Flydubai

How to Check In

Aside from the physical check-in counters present on all departure airports for Flydubai, travellers may also utilise the online check-in service set up by the company. The online check-in service is available for select departure points, including Almaty, Amman, Bahrain, Basra, Beirut, Belgrade, Chisinau, Colombo, Dammam, Doha, Istanbul, Juba, Kuwait, Male, Muscat, Riyadh, and Yekaterinburg. The online check-in service is open 24 hours down to four hours prior to departure, and will still be required to pass through security at least 60 minutes before departure time. Meanwhile, travellers who are departing from Dubai through the Dubai International Airport and others (with the exception of Jeddah and Madinah) are allowed to check-in through the self-service kiosks available within the airports. Travellers will need their booking reference number as well as a machine-readable passport for the self-service check-in.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Flydubai allows its travellers to bring free hand luggage to the cabin, subject to the rules and regulations previously set by the airline. Economy class passengers may enjoy a seven-kilogram allowance with a size limit of 56 x 45 x 25 centimetres. Further, they are also allowed to bring a laptop bag or one small lady’s handbag/gentleman's satchel not exceeding 25 x 33 x 20 centimetres. The total carry-on allowance must not exceed 10 kilograms. Further, business class travellers are allowed up to two items of hand baggage on board, with a combined weight not exceeding 15 kilograms. Each baggage has to be smaller than the set standard of 56 x 45 x 25 centimetres, so it could be stored on the overhead locker and under the seats. Passengers who are travelling with an infant may also carry one extra bag containing the baby's needs during the flight. All checked baggage are subject to weight limits and are charged accordingly. The same goes for any excess baggage.

While by nature a low-cost carrier, Flydubai provides passengers with two seat classes. Travellers may board as an economy class passenger, or may also come in as a business class passenger. Both types are to be treated with utmost hospitality and superior service, although of course value for money would dictate more conveniences for the business class passenger, especially when it comes to baggage allowances, food choices, and other inflight services.

Inflight Entertainment

Inflight services for Flydubai include entertainment options (depending on plane and seat types), food and beverage options, comfortable seat pitches, and inflight duty free shopping. The shopping can be done through the inflight duty free magazine. Travellers are also treated with utmost care and hospitality by the on-board flight attendants and crew.
