Jin Air Co. Ltd, formerly called Air Korea, is a full subsidiary of Korean Air and a low cost airline headquartered in Deungchon-dong, Gangseo-gu, Seoul, South Korea. Jin Air began its operations in July 2008, providing routes to regional destinations in South Korea. The inaugural flight was from Gimpo International Airport in Seoul and Jeju International Airport in Jeju Island on July 17, 2008, using a Boeing 737-800. By October 2009, the airline began international flights to Macau, Guam, and Bangkok.

Baggage Allowance & Fees

Passengers are allowed one complimentary carry-on baggage of size less than 115 centimetres / 45 inches and a maximum weight of 12 kilograms / 26 pounds. Additional one laptop computer / briefcase / handbag is also allowed. Free checked baggage allowance is two pieces of luggage with total dimensions 158 centimetres / 62 inches. The maximum weight per piece must be 23 kilograms / 50 pounds, and the sum of the dimensions of the two bags must not exceed 273 centimetres / 107 inches. Adults carrying infants may bring 1 piece baby bag with size less than 115 cm/45 in and a maximum weight of 10 kilograms / 22 pounds, plus one collapsible stroller or child car seat per child. Charges for excess baggage depend on the weight and the size of the baggage. The airline reserves the right to refuse to take the luggage on board if it does not fit into the size and weight requirements. Items that are declared restricted items such as explosive, flammable items, radioactive, infectious or toxic substances, or other dangerous items like firearms and work tools are not allowed. Restricted items with special precautions include medicine, toiletry items, medical devices & mobility aids, rescue equipment, batteries and portable electronic services, and the like.

Inflight Food

Complimentary water is provided on all flights. Alcoholic drinks, other beverages, and snacks are available to purchase on board. Cash and credit card payments are accepted. Snacks are provided as a light meal for the Fukuoka and Nagasaki Route. In some flights, PS Vita Rental Service, Jini Kids Meal Service, and Buy-on-Board Snacks & Merchandise Service may be provided. The availability of service and items vary depending on the routes.

Inflight Entertainment

Inflight duty free shopping is also available on Jin Air international flights. There is no limit on the purchase of inflight duty free products, but passengers are required to comply with the duty free regulations of the destination country. Currencies accepted on board are Korean Won, US Dollar, Japan Yen, European Euro, and China Yuan. Payments can be made via cash, credit cards, or traveller’s checks.
