FLYING FROM SINGAPORE TO KUNMING

China Eastern Airlines fly directly to Kunming on Mondays, Wednesdays and Sundays while SilkAir has direct flights on Sundays, Tuesday, Thursdays and Fridays. It is also possible to fly via Chiang Mai on SilkAir and China Eastern Airlines and via Bangkok on Thai Airways, Singapore Airlines and China Eastern Airlines.

The only budget airline that flies from Singapore to Kunming is AirAsia via Kuala Lumpur.

DEPARTURE FROM SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT (SIN)

There are several ways to get to the Singapore Changi Airport from the city. The easiest way to to take the train directly to Terminal 3 of the airport for around SGD 2 (USD 1.50) and in just 45 minutes. If Bus 36 stops near your accommodation, you could also take the service to the airport for around the same price as taking the train but do take note of the traffic conditions as the journey might take up to 75 minutes. For the most convenient option, hop onto any public taxi to take you from door-to-terminal in 30 minutes for approximately SGD 20 to SGD 30 (USD 15 to USD 22).

THINGS TO DO IN SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT (SIN)

It is recommended that you arrive at the Singapore Changi Airport at least two hours before your flight to Kunming. Just before clearing the immigration, be sure to catch the world’s largest Kinetic Rain sculpture at the departure area of Terminal 1. Do some last minute shopping at some of the 350 shops for cosmetics, fragrances, electronics and high street fashion options. Wish to recharge before your flight? ARRIVAL AT KUNMING CHANGSHUI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (KMG)

The fastest way to get from Kunming Changshui International Airport to the city area is via the subway. The journey would take around 25 minutes and cost just SGD 1 (USD 0.70). Six shutter bus lines will also bring you to the various city landmarks in about 45 to 60 minutes. You can also easily flag down a taxi to the city area for about SGD 18 (USD 13) in 40 to 50 minutes time.

There are over 60 retail outlets and 30 F&B shops at the airport to cater to your shopping and eating needs.
