New Caledonia has two main airports – the New Caledonia Airport (NOU) and the Noumea-Magenta Airport (GEA). The New Caledonia Airport is also known as the Tontouta Airport and is located in Paita, around 52 kilometres from Noumea, the capital of the country. The New Caledonia airport serves mostly international flights including flights operated by Air France, Aircalin, Air New Zealand and Qantas. The Noumea-Magenta Airport is closer to the capital’s city centre and serves all domestic flights mostly operated by Air Caledonie.
