Manado International Airport is located in North Sulawesi, about 13 kilometres northeast of Manado in Indonesia. The airport is also known as Sam Ratulangi International Airport after the Minahasan educator, journalist and independence hero Sam Ratulangi.
The airport is one of the international gateways to Indonesia, and is the entry point for tourists travelling to the Bunaken National Marine Park on Bunaken Island. Manado International Airport is the hub for Lion Air/Wings Air for the northeastern part of Indonesia and is one of the focus cities of Garuda Indonesia and Citilink. The airport is served by four airlines which operate flights to neighbouring Singapore and several domestic destinations.
There are several transport options from Manado International Airport to the city. Taxis are available at the airport and takes about thirty minutes to get to the city centre. DAMRI buses and mikrolets, or mini-buses also serve the airport.

Located 45 km south of Manado, Bukit Kasih, or the Hill of Love, is also an interesting place to visit. Climb over 2000 steps to the top to enjoy an amazing view of the countryside. Bunaken National Marine Park
Bunaken is one of the finest marine park in Indonesia and its most popular diving site. This amazing island is the primary reason why tourists flock to Manado. In addition to the island, the park also covers several neighbouring islandsi including a dormant volcano, Manado Tua.
Tangkoko Batuangus Nature Reserve
This large nature reserve which cover 8,700 hectares is home many plant and animal species. Here you can find the Celebes crested macaqueand tarsiers among other endemic species.
North Sulawesi, as in the rest of Indonesia, has an equatorial climate with two seasons: rainy and dry.
