Cheap flights from Jamaica

Jamaica is an island nation in the Caribbean, the fifth-largest in the region. It comprises the third-largest island of the Greater Antilles. It is located to the south of Cuba and to the west of the island of Hispaniola, and contains the nation-states of Haiti and the Dominican Republic. The island spans 10,990 square kilometres (4,240 square miles) in area. Its capital and largest city is Kingston. The official language is English while the national, de facto language is Jamaican Patois.

It experiences a tropical climate, with hot and humid weather, although higher inland regions are more temperate. Some of the regions on the south coast are dry rain-shadow areas. Because of its location in the hurricane belt of the Atlantic Ocean, it sometimes experiences significant storm damage.

Where to go

Kingston, the capital of Jamaica, has two major sections: 'downtown' and 'uptown', also referred to as 'New Kingston'. Perhaps one of the things that Jamaica is known for is that it is the birthplace of Bob Marley, the critically acclaimed reggae singer-songwriter musician. Naturally, a museum in his honour can be visited. The Bob Marley Museum is filled with memorabilia and the late musician’s personal belongings. Other notable attractions in the city also include the National Gallery of Jamaica, which features artwork by Jamaicans throughout its history and hosts the annual National Visual Arts Exhibition, which aims to promote post-colonial art and to showcase the works of local rising artists; Port Royal, the notorious 17th-century pirate haven; Devon House, an excellent example of Jamaican architecture; and Lime Cay, a beach off the coast of Port Royale and the shoot location of the movie, The Harder they Come.

Approximately two hours away from Kingston by plane is Miami, Florida in the United States of America. It is a major city in the south-eastern part of the U.S. and makes up part of the largest metropolitan area in Florida. Explore the city via the world-famous Miami City & Boat Tour, which covers the city’s most popular tourist attractions, including South Beach, The Art Deco, Little Havana, Downtown Miami, Brickell Ave, Coconut Grove, Coral Gables, The Venetian Pool, and more. More than that, there are plenty of things to do and enjoy in Miami, its beaches being popular to tourists. There’s Miami Beach, South Beach, and Haulover Beach Park.

From Kingston, about 10 hours away by plane is the city of London, the capital and largest city of both England and the United Kingdom. This megalopolis is teeming with places to explore and things to do. Visit its famous landmarks, Buckingham Palace, the official London residence of the Queen; the iconic Tower Bridge, built in 19th century and is decorated with high towers; the Piccadilly Circus, one of the most photographed sights in the city; and of course, the London Eye, the third-largest observation wheel in the world.
