Museo Larco – Located in Bolívar 1515 Street, the Museo Larco is situated inside an 18th-century viceroy’s mansion. The museum houses one of the country’s largest displays of ceramics, as well as other ceramic works from the Cupisnique, Chimú, Chancay, Nazca, and Inca cultures. Some of the museum’s most notable displays are the Moche portrait vessels, gold and jewellery exhibits, and a separately housed collection of illustrations depicting pre-Columbian erotica.
Chan Chan – A UNESCO World Heritage Site, Chan Chan is the largest pre-Colombian city in the Americas and the largest adobe – Spanish word for mud brick, a natural building material – city in the world. Chan Chan has ten walled citadels that housed temples, burial chambers, ceremonial rooms, residences and reservoirs. These walls stretching throughout the city creates a unique labyrinth of passages that would be an experience to enjoy in Peru.
Islas Uros – Located in Lake Titicaca on the Peruvian Altiplano, the Uros Islands are beautiful floating islands made from reed or tortora rushes. The houses, boats and even artwork found in the Islas Uros are also made from reed. A visit to these islands will definitely be a unique experience.
