How to find Avis at Ponce Airport
Check how pickup works for your Avis car rental at Ponce Airport. You could grab your ride at the airport, have staff meet you, or take a shuttle bus to the rental lot. Begin your rental car search and filter by 'Pickup' to discover the options for collection.
Airport terminal: Pick up your vehicle right where you touch down. Counters sit next to or inside the arrival terminal, so you go from baggage claim to the driver's seat fast.
Free shuttle bus: The rental office is based near the airport rather than at the terminal. A free shuttle takes you to where you'll collect your car.
Meet and greet: A representative will meet you in arrivals with the rental paperwork and keys. They'll then take you to your car.
Prefer a pickup that keeps people and paperwork to a minimum? Some providers offer self-service pickup, which lets you collect your keys from a kiosk or lockbox.
Avis car rental at Ponce Airport: What you need to know
Transmission: Make use of the 'Transmission' filter to choose between 'Automatic' and 'Manual.' Automatic handles gear changes for you, while Manual is the standard stick shift. Most rental companies offer both.
Fuel policy: Go for a 'Fair fuel policy' to keep things simple. You'll collect the car with a full tank and return it full, meaning you only pay for the fuel you actually use.
Mileage limits: Select 'Unlimited mileage' under the 'Policies' filter to travel wherever the road takes you without added mileage charges.
Side of the road: Remember to stay on the right side of the road in Puerto Rico.
Speed limits: Keep within the local speed limits. Usually that's 30kph in built-up areas and around 100kph on highways, unless road signs indicate differently.
Required documents: When collecting your Avis car rental, you'll generally need your physical driver's licence and a second photo ID. If anything extra is required, you'll find it in your booking.
Deposits and credit card: Providers commonly place a pre-authorised hold on a credit card as a security deposit. Debit cards are not always accepted at pickup, so it's best to bring a credit card with you.
Insurance: Adding excess insurance may protect you in case of an accident or theft. Policies differ, so check what's covered before you book.
Add ons: From GPS units and reverse cameras to child seats, the right extras can seriously upgrade your Avis car rental.
