Getting from Shanghai Pudong to Singapore Changi Airport

Pudong Airport has two passenger terminals: T1 and T2. If travellers need to get some rest or sleep, there are a few different lounges spread out across the terminals.

A handful of dining outlets of both Chinese and Western origin can be found within Pudong Airport. Other facilities available include charging stations, banks, post offices, photo kiosks and airport lounges as well as a currency exchange office and transportation center.

The airport is located about 30 kilometres from the city center, and is larger than Hongqiao Airport. To get from the city center to the airport, travellers can take the subway to Longyang Road Station. From there, they can transfer to the high-speed Maglev train heading for PVG Subway Station. The train ride should take only 8 minutes, at a fare of about 50 CNY(SGD $10.32).

International air travellers are advised to check in at the airport 3 hours before the scheduled departure time of their flight, whilst domestic travellers should check in 1.5 hours in advance.

If you’re flying to Singapore with Spring Airlines and China Eastern Airlines, you will depart from Terminal 1. For Singapore Airlines and Malaysia Airlines, you will depart from Terminal 2.

Getting from Shanghai Hongqiao to Singapore Changi Airport

Hongqiao Airport has two passenger terminals: T1 and T2. If travellers need to get some rest or sleep, there are a few different lounges spread out across the terminals.

Numerous restaurants, cafes and bars can be found in Hongqiao Airport, as well as a number of duty-free shops (that also sell traditional Chinese-made products like silk and Chinese scrolls). Besides that, facilities like a business center, an airport hotel, a currency exchange office, baggage storage services and ATMs are also available within the passenger terminals.

The airport is located 15 kilometres from the heart of Shanghai, much closer than Pudong Airport. Do note, however, that international flights from Hongqiao Airport head only to North Asian cities and not directly to Singapore (as of October 2018). To get to Hongqiao from downtown Shanghai, travellers are advised to simply grab a cab as the ride would take only about 20 minutes and cost less than CNY60 (SGD 12).

Travellers are advised to check in at Hongqiao Airport 2 hours before the scheduled departure time of their flight.
