Unsure why other reviews as as positive, upon arrival I was told I was sharing a bathroom, this was not highlighted when booking but on on the email sent afterwards, I gave another £10 for my own bathroom. Then I was asked to hard over my car keys as I was parked in the car park in front of another car. I refused as they are not insured to fo this, I then managed to find a space as another car left the very tiny cramped car park. My room was very small, I had to put down my case in the bathroom as there was no floor space at all. The TV was tiny, my phone has a bigger screen. Only positive was the breakfast which was good.

The staff were very friendly and helpful but we are sorry to say that the photos are much better than the place, also the reviews are hard to believe. The hotel is tried and dated, more 1970s than victorian. The room we where offered needed a good clean behind and around the furniture and the net curtains needed a wash. The worst thing for us was that the room key did the front and back doors of the hotel ( 1 key for everything ) which meant that everyones room key worked all the room doors and there was no way to lock our room door ( the deadlock button was removed ). We did not stay and went home instead.
Having said all that it was reasonably priced with a good location, you get what you pay for.

This property was very rundown and noise in room from traffic was unbearable into the early hours. Also breakfast was poor.
Shower required a deep clean an redecoration all round.

Avoid this hotel. It is overpriced and poor value.

Despite booking a family room with private bathroom, on arrival, we were told that our room had neither and we had to use the shared WC and bathroom on the floor below. Only after protesting and insisting, were we given the correct room.
This hotel is shabby, faded and tired and the breakfast was very basic.
It is certainly not worth the £140 a night charged.

The room was booked in this hotel as it was convenient for the event attended. It was a good price, but the room and en suite were small, and towels a bit inadequate. Tea making facilities were adequate but not over generous. The inclusive breakfast was not a good standard.
i would not return for second visit.
