Exploring Madrid on foot

Excellent hotel, very good service. Well located, close to everything. The rooms are comfortable; you are not cramped. The bathroom is comfortable. The only thing I would improve is the breakfast.

Disappointing Experience

I stayed at Hotel Sterling Madrid for several nights in July 2026. While the location is good – close to Gran Via, the overall stay fell very short of expectations due to several issues:
• Room and bathroom: Very dated and not up to expected standards. Website photos are not realistic.
Mattresses were very uncomfortable. Beds only have a thin bedsheet for a covering – no comforter.
A quadruple room is simply a Double room with 4 mattresses pushed together in a small space. The headboard is an uncomfortable wooden board on a wall; due to the bed placement one family member’s head bumped up to the headboard’s light switch all night.
Bathroom had no amenities like a bidet, body lotion or tissues.
TV is very small – the size of a small computer monitor – very difficult to watch anything.
The room walls and windows were so thin that we could hear hallway footsteps and all outside traffic.
• Service: We requested maintenance for an issue in our room on two separate occasions yet no one ever came to fix it.
• Price: We could have stayed at a much nicer hotel for less money.
Because these issues significantly impacted the comfort of our stay, I cannot recommend this property. I hope management takes steps to address these gaps or lowers the price.

Worst bed I had ever slept in my life !! Old everything!!

Stayed at this hotel a couple of days and so glad I only booked 2 because the hotel is very old all furniture, elevators, covers, lamps, decorations are horrible, but the worst part is the bed there is no boxspring is just a thin board and the mattress was so old and hard you couldn’t literally see the bumps, I had the worst night of my life my back was hurting my shoulders there was no way to rest, and to put the cherry on top there was a hair BALL inside the sheets , the sink was clogged , very bad experience and my rate was $250.00 euros per night, what a way of robbing people! Never again !

Excellent location but needs to be updated

Hotel in ideal location for City Centre, staff on reception were friendly and helpful.
Hotel rooms were clean but need to be painted to refresh walls, look dirty. Plug sockets, only found 2 in room under tv and they were not in good condition, sparks flew from one when plugging in phone charger. Mattress on bed was very hard, uncomfortable and back pain as a result
But overall for location and value for money and cleanliness it was worth it for 3 nights to see wonderful Madrid
