Satisfactory

I stayed here for 10 nights for work. Location was good, it is nice and quiet, the rooms are clean and I liked the wood theme. Kipfenberg is small but pretty. Breakfast at the hotel is good enough to keep you going all day. Dinner is very nice too. Car parking is easy, my rental was full EV and there is a charging station across the road in the public carpark. If you can't find space in the hotel carpark there is plenty of room in the public carpark across the road which is also free to use. There is two supermarkets (Edeka and Norma) a short walk from the hotel. The only downside for me is the owners / family of this hotel are not very friendly or welcoming, which was amusing. However the non-family staff members more than make up for it.

Rooms like a storage room

Have booked here half board with the Postwirt because 4 star hotel is certainly also the 2 course menu ok,but that was unfortunately not so..As a half board guest there is a person 2nd class.Registration in the hotel, then we had to go to the guest house opposite to the grandma,in the yard back stairs and what did we see spider's nests at every step in the corners, door unlocked and on opening a squeaky...and the mattresses the same, there was even 2 laughed at each other, there was as in a hollow,we had to sit in the hotel ,for breakfast and dinner we were allowed to sit at a table with other guests.,Breakfast was ok but dinner leaves something to be desired, veal goulash ,was certainly out of the can,I still get sick of it today.
Would be interested where the 4 **** stars come from, probably bought in the ebay.the shower room was also very cramped,3.00m x 0.90 m for shower cubicle, washbasin and toilet and very in need of renovation(see pictures)
The beds were made of pine wood and were simply sanded down for the past 30 to 40 years, skirting boards were partly loose and lay on the floor. Socket sockets were concealed on both sides of the rear bedside cabinet.
There was also no guest card.We watched at dinner the host ,who has a dog who walks in the restaurant (4***** stars)in a room where food is everywhere around.Has nevertheless the Senor host taken out of his pocket a deliciousli for the dog and gave im,without washing his hands he opened the drawer at the freezer and actually took out a handful of ice cubes and from the next drawer 2-3 handfuls of forged fruit. After 2 days we have aborted our holiday.Unfortunately we have booked for the first time about travel currently.

Restaurant - no recommendation

There were only seven of us guests in the restaurant. Extremely noisy in all guest rooms. We asked if you could order half portions. In the end, we paid the normal price for half a portion, however, and when asked by the waiter, he said that you had the same effort with half portions and he would talk to the chef later. However, we did not get any more answers.
Hard to believe, at a time when half portions are on every menu with a reduced price.
The deer goulash wasn't the hit either. Dry napkin dumpling slices, hardly any sauce, therefore quite dry and the red cabbage tasted like pork.

Hotel overall not bad. Parking not clearly marked, and I thought it was another property. Bin in the room not cleaned of what the previous guest left. On the ither hand, the restaurant is not bad.

Food, staff and rooms ok, but mattresses slackened

We stayed with 8 people in the annex. The food was excellent, the staff friendly and the breakfast plentiful and good. The rooms were fine for the price too. Unfortunately, the mattresses had sagged.
I wouldn't have needed dogs in the breakfast room either, especially if the dog is so big that it reaches the edge of the table with its muzzle.
