Lovely little hotel
My wife and I stayed three nights at Hotel Galant on the outskirts of Sofia. Everything was nice: friendly staff, reasonable prices, nice views and very clean, specious room. The city centre is easily accessible either with public transport or a taxi.
The best thing was the food. Everything we tried was excellent! Traditional home cooked Bulgarian dishes that were simply delicious.

A.k.a. Motel
We stayed at this hotel by chance as it was getting late. It is far from Sofia city center and recommended for a stay if you continue further from Sofia or to Sofia the next morning (not good for Sofia exploring). 72 BGN or 37€ for a room if you just show up at the reception. Rooms come with a socialistic feel and need some refreshment but otherwise basic. It is a next to road hotel that has 24/7 reception and a bar with quite extensive menu as well. Local beer is 2.5 BGN, Coffee in the morning app 2.5 BGN. Great on the road hotel.

Nice little road hotel.
Good location, far from town center, but is too close to main road. Room was clear, large and so-so new. Some little things were missing, but for this cheap price that is not so important...
Breakfast is payable. The Parking is free. The Service is more than good. But this hotel need more development in the future.

REALLY LOVELY
This was a lovely hotel and they made us feel really welcome, nothing was too much trouble :)
The food was excellent and we would stay again!!
After a long journey we were looking foward to a good sleep and we were not disappointed with the rooms at all, very clean and spacious, soaps etc were all provided.
We look foward to seeing the staff again!! A big thankyou :)

Nice (albeit not very attractive)
Stayed here for a week in this family-run hotel although I didn't get the impression that it was generally used for long stays. Most guests I saw seemed to be staying just overnight.
Majority of the staff at the hotel were friendly and very courteous and happy to respond to any requests or queries.
The hotel (which is currently in the process of being extended) is located on a busy main road with no pavements in between the Sofia ring-road about 1km in one direction and Pancharevo town and lake 1km in the other direction - so nothing to look at from the front door, but some quiet private land to the rear. The only choice for a relaxing stroll would be up and around the lake or perhaps somewhere beyond the private land to the rear of the hotel.
The room was comfortable, quiet, and overlooking the private land and beyond to the top of Vitoshia mountain with cable/satellite channels and ensuite toilet/basin/shower (no bath). The fridge was a little bit noisy.
Food was really nice and plentiful with a good choice at a good price but separately charged from the room rate. Bar had quite a bit of choice as well.
There's a casino in the hotel which apparently has replaced a swimming pool. From the outside it looked to be a dark and little-used room full of slot machines.
Overall it seemed a comfortable and quiet place to stay at a reasonable price, but with limited scope for providing long-term stay enjoyment.
