There is also the option of taking Bus 36 but it will be slightly less comfortable if you are traveling with a luggage. Getting from the Hat Yai International Airport into the city is fairly affordable and if you are willing to spend some time and forgo some comfort, the local songthaew will take you into town for approximately SGD 1.50 (USD 1). Taxi rides from the airport will cost approximately SGD 12 (USD 8) - there is also a prepaid airport limousine service which costs just slightly more if you are not willing to haggle with the taxi drivers. Should you wish to rent a vehicle, you will be able to find an Avis outlet at the airport.
