The United States has an unincorporated territory that is located in the South Pacific Ocean called American Samoa and is at the southeast of Samoa.

Comprised of five main islands, the American Samoa is full of picturesque beaches, and what sets it apart from other destinations is that it has two coral atolls. The largest and most populous island is Tutuila. Islands named as Manuʻa, Rose Atoll, and Swains are also included in the territory of the American Samoa.

American Samoa isn’t really that common of a place to most people when it comes to travelling and most people don’t know its location and its identity. For starters, the American Samoa is part of the Samoan Islands chain that is located west of the Cook Islands, north of Tonga, which is about 500km south of Tokelau.

American Samoa is the southernmost territory of the United States and it is also one of two United States territories that also include Jarvis Island. American Samoa is a top exporter of tuna and tuna products and its main trading partner is the United States.

Rainmaker Mountain – Travellers have heard about this place called Rainmaker Mountain, which is also known as the Mt. Pioa. Pago Pago Harbor has the highest annual rainfall of any harbour in the world and it is due to the fact that the 523m-high Rainmaker Mountain traps clouds and causes the high amount of rainfall in the area. Travellers can use a Rainmaker Pass to drive up to the mountain and revel at its peaks. Initially people will think that the mountain only has one peak, but upon driving to the summit, it is revealed that it is actually three-pronged.

Leone Church - Leone is the second-largest settlement on Tutuila and it used to be the Polynesian capital of the island. The Leone Church is located in Leone, the same village and landing site of John Williams, the first missionary to visit Samoa. Williams arrived on October 18, 1832 and has imposed the Leone Church, making it the first one in American Samoa. Apart from the Leone Church, there is also another imposing church. The head church has three towers facing the sea. Williams has a monument in Leone Church for his relevance; and to this day, the church is well maintained with beautiful stained-glass windows and intricate woodwork.

Fagatogo Market – Travellers can also visit the Fagatogo Market on a Friday night. This market is the town's happening place. The locals socialise, ransack food stalls, and browse for fresh produce on a Friday night, and come Saturday, everything will be gone by then and it is a symbol that the market has done well. Travellers are encouraged to scour through the market to enjoy the local cuisine and also buy souvenirs for them to bring home.
