Lake Conache is a beautiful city escape from Trujillo with wide natural areas surrounding the lake including native forests and sand dunes. Weekenders and tourist alike enjoy this area for sandboarding and freshwater swimming. It's generally safe, as there are many people around as well as tourism infrastructure.
