Yay! I finally got to try Blue Star in its home state and it is just as good as in L.A! I did have to wait 45mins, but it was freezing outside so we took the time to warm our fingers and toes! I always get the rasberry donut and it never disappoints! The facility is clean and decorated with a modern flair. Blue Star donuts always remind me of a dense yummier funnel cake/donut, comeeeee way better then the other place I shall not name!

We tried Cointreau Crème Brulee donut (filled with vanilla custard and came with a small pipette filled with sweet and bitter Cointreau syrup) and old-fashioned buttermilk (my boyfriend liked it, to me it was cake-y, a bit dense and nothjng special).

This location seems to be busy all the time because it's right in downtown and has a lot of foot traffic. But the line goes quickly. Sneak in front of the line to see the selections.

In my opinion, Blue Star has the best donuts in the city! The donuts seem less greasy and the flavors are more creative and more “gourmet” than the competitors. Mexican Hot Chocolate, passion fruit, etc.

Donuts donuts donuts! Great place with tasty treats. You can get your regular or try something new here. I’m never disappointed.

A new Blue Star donuts just opened up near the house in the SW waterfront area just on the south side of the park. These guys make the best donuts in town in my opinion. Voodoo Donuts are not good. Get there on the early side as they tend to run out of some of the flavors. Also have good coffee available.

Many visitors go to Voodoo Donuts but locals like Blue Star better. It is on Hawthorne and about a 15 minute walk from my house.

In the competition between Blue Star and Voodoo. Blue Star wins. We came here the last day of our trip, we waited about 20 minutes in line and we choose four donuts! My favorite is the Blueberry Basil Donuts and the Mexican Hot Chocolate! IG @missericayvette

We went later in the day, around 7pm and they were sold out of most of their flavors and my donut was definitely cold, but the donuts were still really delicious! I had the blueberry cake, which wasn't anything exceptional but I enjoyed it and my friend had the olive oil orange donut which was delicious and unique. I think we will try to go back in the morning one of these days to get the full experience.

Most out of towners visiting the Rose City have heard of Voodoo, but to locals, Blue Star is a local favorite!

Delicious! Had my first Blue Star donut thanks to the storefront at PDX and I'm hooked! Unique and delicious flavor combinations, quality ingredients, and a funky atmosphere. Seating here in minimal, but it won't take customers long to scarf down their delectable purchases!

Voodoo Doughnut is like the fun family member while Blue Star is the quality time member you bond with. Both have their own positives.

I prefer cake donuts, which Blue Star tends to have more of. However, when I arrived around 5 PM after my happy hour nearby, the selection was sparse.

I ended up getting a Green Tea and a Mexican Chocolate. The guy working there, seeing that I was disappointed with the selection, threw in a freebie Cinnamon Sugar for me. How thoughtful! :)

Since I couldn't finish all 3 by myself, I focused on the one I liked best. Which was the Green Tea. It had a rich matcha flavor, in cake-like form. Yum!

The Mexican Chocolate had that spicy kick, which I'm sure others would love, it just wasn't for me. The Cinnamon Sugar, was light enough. I ended up giving my leftovers to a homeless person.

Worth a visit!

The Raspberry Rosemary donut will change your life. The flavors are outstanding and the cake donut construction will amaze you! The donut is soft and moist, but the outside is a little crispy. Must go!

Forget VooDoo unless someone famous recently passed. Blue star is gourmet and sells out and closes its doors. Bourbon or blueberry or old fashioned buttermilk.

Donuts for grown ups. Expect a line but well worth the wait to try at least once. Interesting flavors including their most popular blueberry bourbon basil, hard apple cider fritter, and passion fruit cocoa!

If you like cake doughnuts well then this is your place. Cake doughnuts with a multitude of toppings. Long line is due to service, yes one girl taking orders and money. One person filling orders in between texting and moving as slow as possible.

Interesting varieties here. However, they are on the sweet end for me. They are open until they sell out of donuts!
