The best thing was the balance between an immense amount of history and culture.
We walked everywhere. It was Fun because we would stop and find a place to have coffee in the lovely out door market
I’m from San Diego, California and I absolutely LOVE Munich. It’s by far my fav city in Germany. The people are super nice and friendly :) Maxvorstadt is the trendy hip area to go out for dinner and drinks, which is right next to LMU. Definitely try käsespätzle, it’s basically Mac n cheese but 10x better. The Englischer Garten is also very nice especially during the summer to tan and have a BBQ with friends. Using the U-Bahn is SO easy to use to get around or you can take a bike :) and of course Oktoberfest was amazing, I’m not a beer person at all but their beer is so easy and yummy to drink. However, if you rent a car or take a bike tour, there are soo many beautiful lakes to go swimming, hikes, or to get something to eat at a typical Bavarian restaurant. Not even exaggerating but the Walchensee lake has turquoise water. There’s also a lift that takes you up a mountain for a scenic view with very easy hiking trails (ppl bring small dogs), there’s also a little restaurant at the top with live Bavarian music :) Honestly Munich is the best, you should definitely visit :)

the must amazing citys.
I recomend stop there of you travel in Germany the sculpture and the history get you to feel another world.
Old school Germany with amazing architecture. Really great food, awesome beer halls, super friendly folks. Went on a backpacking trip and can see why so many of my friends who have visited ended up moving their. Great mix of a big city and local feel.

This city is unbelievable. While everyone thinks you have to come for beer fest, there are plenty of festivals in the area and surrounding cities all the time! Make sure to stop in the Hofbrauhaus for a liter or two!

Munich has everything! Make sure to check out surrounding areas as well in Bavaria. I would definitely recommend the schnitzel shop by Marienplatz. Best food I had while there and it is affordable and fast. This beautiful city is covered in history and culture and a must-see for travelers and those of German heritage.

I went to Munich in 2015 for Oktoberfest, it was an amazing experience definitely try to go around this time! Munich is such a beautiful city filled with great food and so much culture. We went on a walking tour that ended in Marienplatz to see the Glockenspiel, well worth it!

Munich is a charming city in the heart of Bavaria! I've been twice for Oktoberfest, alas ten years apart, but had an amazing time on both trips! Besides Oktoberfest, be sure to stroll though the English Garden, watch the surfers, and enjoy a drink in one of the many beer gardens in town.

Munich is an incredible city - museums, cathedrals, and the largest and most impressive city park in all of Germany - and a bewildering selection of local beers. Be sure to visit the Hofbrauhaus - during Oktoberfest if you can - if only to be able to say you've done it.
