If you’re dreaming about a summer spent dipping your toes in the Adriatic, unfortunately you’re not alone. Summer, specifically July and August, is peak tourist season on the coast and islands of Croatia, so ... Read more
though you’ll likely enjoy the nice weather, you’ll have to endure exorbitant hotel rates and crowds, crowds, crowds. Summer is better spent inland at cities like Zagreb, where you’ll encounter an entirely different story: fewer tourists, more bargains, and cooler temperatures. The coast is much more pleasant in late spring and early fall when air and water temperatures are still warm, but places are cheaper and less crowded. Winter is also not bad along the coast, though it gets cold and snowy inland.

Probably Hvar is one of the most (or maybe THE MOST) incredible Croatian islands. In the past was already famous for its strategic position, to prove that you just have to look around and see the architecture and the monuments. Today is famous mostly for its natural beauty and of course the historical one. What you can enjoy the most is the mild climate: winters are warm and summers are just pleasant. During the year is always busy, people love the wild nature, the amazing beaches, the local cuisine and the nightlife.
It's a place for everybody: young, families, older people, couples. There are so many different attractions that you can't really complain about them.
Don't miss to visit Stari Grad, it's a little old town with a wonderful wharf.

The most amazing island for me is definitely this one. I had a lot of fun. First, I was in Split and then after checking out Split we went with Katamaran to Hvar.
It was super nice and cozy in there. We have traveled around 2 hours but the time flew pass us because it was very good inside of Katamaran.
When we went to the Hvar we absolutely loved it. Weather was amazing, it was pretty warm and we felt nice.
Hvar is so beautiful, it's full of restaurants, bars, very old churches and we adored everything.
I recommend it.

This little Island made us fell in love with it.
We spent a lot of time in Croatia and we have visited a lot of places but this Island, for me, was truly extraordinary.

I was so happy that I was there and when was the time to leave I really did not want to. I actually kind of want to live there, too.

We first went to Split and then took a boat to get to the Hvar. It's about 2 hour ride and the Katamaran - the name of the big boat, was so modern inside and we felt very comfortable those 2 hours.

Hvar is amazingly beautiful Island and you can just go to the coast and stare at the view for hours and you will never get enough of it.

We saw some very old walls, churches...and it is also filled up with historical buildings just like the rest of the Croatia, which we loved it.

It has a lot of bars, restaurants and so on. We ate in some restaurant ( cannot remember the name ) but it had super amazing view and we felt really nice while we were there.

If you ever find yourself in Croatia, Hvar is a MUST place.

You should definitely go to the Carpe Diem beach, it's really incredibly beautiful.
It's also full of restaurants which offers you modern meals, but you can find some who is doing traditional homemade meats or other meals.
The beaches and the views are breathtaking, the food is different and delicious and people are extra nice.

certainly the main port side of hvar is very party centric. so if that's not your thing, choose somewhere a bit further away. known for lavender as well, come during the season the see the colourful landscapes. day trips to the nearby islands are well worth it

I would recommend the beautiful island called Hvar. Where I stayed, in the centre, there were no cars. The island is both quiet and fun to discover, but also has a night life.
