Finger-licking good BBQ! From sandwiches and ribs, to smoked meatloaf and jambalaya, it's smoky goodness all the way!

A meat lovers dream. The sides are just as great as the main course. Salmon was great.

This place is getting a lot of hype right now as one of the best places to eat in Detroit. Rightfully so. Comfort food and BBQ at this local joint. Great value as well.

Probably the most talked about place in Detroit for BBQ/southern comfort food. They have different BBQ styles from the Midwest and East Coast. I felt it's a must try if you're from out of town but it costs $20-30 per plate.

Nice place, which was happily able to accommodate our party of eight. The pork butt sandwich I got (The Reason), was awesome. The sides are excellent. They have Zingerman's corn bread (yes!) and great mac and cheese. I expected it to be a hole in the wall, but it's nice inside. Good vegetarian options too!

You know the mac and cheese is good if it can stand proud as an entrée—with two sides of its own. Slows, an authentic barbecue joint located across the street from the abandoned Michigan Central Station, is playing a key role in inner-city Detroit’s rejuvenation. Just a year after opening in 2005, the restaurant did a whopping $1.8 million in sales, and it has since inspired a wave of new barbecue spots throughout the city (not to mention a nearby artisanal pizza shop).

Slows led Corktown's resurgence and remains the neighborhood hot spot. Carnivores carve into Southern-style brisket and pulled pork. Vegetarians have options from okra fritters to a faux-chicken sandwich. There's a great selection of local brews on tap.

This is a great BBQ place! They make comfort food well. There are several sauces to try from, all have a unique taste and worth checking out. Definitely make a reservation or come during an off-peak period because the wait is really long at this place. Definitely do Slows to Go to be introduced to Slows in general, and that is pretty quick service, you get your food within 30 mins. Everything is made to order so the food is fresh and flavorful!

On the edge of Corktown in Detroit, Slows has become a must visit restaurant! Featured on the Food Network, it offers the best American BBQ food in Detroit. Must be a meat lover, if so, the options are overwhelming. Try the Mac n Cheese! Theres an outdoor patio for the summer time and the interior is all wood, love the vibe here!!
