      DEPARTURE FROM SINGAPORE CHANGI AIRPORT (SIN)

      Hopping on a train to get to the Singapore Changi Airport is a great idea so long you have some time to spare. For just SGD 2 (USD 1.50), you will be able to get to Terminal 3 of the airport and the journey should not take more than 45 minutes if you are coming from the city center. A bus alternative (for roughly the same price) is also available if you would like to go directly to a terminal of your choice but the SkyTrain in the airport will be an even better option. If you are rushing for time or are just simply looking for comfort, a public taxi will take you from door to door for approximately SGD 20 (USD 15) to SGD 30 (USD 22) - this journey should not take more than 25 minutes unless there is heavy traffic. Parking at the airport can be quite costly as a fee of SGD 0.04 (USD 0.03) a minute with a daily limit of SGD 57.60 (USD 42.40) will apply.

      In preparation for the flight ahead, travellers are advised to arrive at least 2 hours prior to the scheduled time of departure to avoid any unnecessary delays. Before you embark on your endless conquest for Italian food, head down the Singapore Food Street in Terminal 3 of the Singapore Changi Airport for your local food fix.       Getting from the Fiumicino – Leonardo da Vinci International Airport to downtown is the quickest on the Leonardo Express (30-35 minutes ride) - it will take you directly into Termini which is Rome’s main train station. Train tickets cost approximately SGD 21 (USD 16) per way per person so it may be quite costly if you are traveling in a group. The Sabina-Fiumicino line (FR1) is a cheaper alternative (SGD 12 or USD 9) and even though it does not stop at Termini, it stops at other popular stations and suburbs as well. Pre-paid taxis can also take you to downtown for approximately SGD 75 (USD 55).

      THINGS TO DO AT FIUMICINO - LEONARDO DA VINCI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT

      Located about 32 km away from Rome’s history center, the Fiumicino – Leonardo da Vinci International Airport is Italy’s largest airport. The airport is home to a large number of fashion retail stores (not just high fashion labels) so you will definitely have a great time shopping here. Those looking to rest their head before their flight can consider checking-in to the Hilton Rome Airport which is just a 5 minutes’ walk to the airport via a covered tunnel - rooms are also soundproofed to ensure you get a good rest.
