Flights from Singapore to Taipei

Cheap flights from Singapore to Taipei

Taipei is the capital city of Taiwan. As the 40th most-populated urban area in the world, around a third of Taiwanese citizens live in this metro area. There are plenty of choices for public transportation here. Railways, high-speed rail, highways, airports, and bus lines are all connected to all parts of this island.

There are plenty of famous landmarks in Taipei, but the most popular ones are The Red House (for arts exhibitions), National Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, and the Freedom Square. There are two airports in Taipei, which are Taipei Taoyuan Airport and Taipei Songshan Airport.

Taipei Taoyuan Airport (TPE)

Serving most flights from Singapore to Taipei, Taipei Taoyuan airport is located about 50 kilometers from the Taipei city center. A taxi ride from here to the city takes around 40 minutes and will cost around NTD 900 - 1200 (or SGD 39 - 52). For a more affordable alternative, you can take the train, MRT, public buses, or the Inter-Terminal Transportation called SkyTrain. Check out the route schedules and prices for more details.

The SIN-TPE flight route is served by these airlines: EVA Air, Scoot, Jetstar Asia, Singapore Airlines, and China Airlines.

Taipei Songshan Airport (TSA)

This airport is located within Taipei city. It is only 10 kilometers away from the center. It serves domestic destinations and flights to Taiwan as well as a small number of international routes, including to Seoul, Tokyo, and some mainland China cities. Songshan Airport is also the base of Republic of China Air Force units.

As mentioned earlier, this airport only has a small number of international flights in East Asian countries. There are no direct flights from Singapore to Taipei from this airport. These are the flights that go to Taipei Songshan Airport: ANA (All Nippon Airways), China Eastern, Sichuan Airlines, Japan Airlines, and Xiamen Airlines.

Best month to visit Taipei

Taipei is a four-seasoned city and the best time to visit is during spring. That is when the average temperature goes to around 20 Celsius. Rain is rare and it is quite sunny without being too hot. Outdoor strolls along the national parks and gardens are ideal at this time. Outdoor hot springs are also advisable.

Autumn is also the second-best choice to visit, although this season is slightly colder than spring. You might want to avoid summer times here between June to August, though as it is uncomfortably hot and humid, so that makes it an off-season for tourists. June to September is also not a good idea, since typhoon tends to hit this city harder and more often than any other months.
