1. Year of the Pig | 1959, 1971, 1983, 1995, 2007, 2019

2019 is a good year for Pigs that are looking to take on new challenges. The best way to challenge themselves is to get out of their comfort zones and to explore the world. Pigs are advised to head to gorgeous Paris for a romantic trip and cruise the Seine, sip wine at a café in Marais or gaze across the city from atop the Eiffel Tower.

It might be a challenging year healthwise, so grabbing a cheap flight to Mumbai to rejuvenate with a Yoga retreat and some Ayurvedic treatment may help prevent any ailments.

Finances might be tight this year, so enjoy a budget break to Harbin in China where anyone can pull a fast one on their friends to tell them that they’re in Russia by visiting Russian Town without actually having to spend on a ticket to Russia.

3. Year of the Ox | 1961, 1973, 1985, 1997, 2009

Our strong Ox friends may be in for a challenging year. Travelling will help alleviate some of the stresses of life and to clear their heads. A trip to see the wall in Berlin will be a great way to take the edge off any inconveniences that they might be facing. If walls are their thing, a trip to Beijing to admire The Great Wall of China should also be in the cards for Ox’s. Like anyone 4else, Ox’s should practice extreme vigilance when embarking on anything new this year.

4. Year of the Tiger | 1962, 1974, 1986, 1998, 2010

Tigers are by nature curious and adventurous so this year book a cheap flight to enigmatic Italy and get off the beaten path. Their competitive streak will have them snapping photos that are sure to make their friends have a serious case of fomo! Tigers are energetic types and get great pleasure from being in bustling cities so where better to head to than the thrilling metropolises of Thailand and Cambodia where they’ll have a blast exploring back streets in search of the most authentic experiences.

5. Year of the Rabbit | 1963, 1975, 1987, 1999, 2011

2019 is going to be great year financially for Rabbits, so splash some of that cash on a dream holiday to Washington in the US of A and pay a visit to The White House. However, they should take caution and wrap up warm as they have a tendency to catch colds easily. Rabbits are known for their dexterous hands and love of calligraphy so head to Shanghai to appreciate some fine art at the Shanghai Art Museum. On the romance side of things, Rabbits might find it challenging to find their ideal partner. A solo trip to Romania to soak in its rich culture and history may help them ‘find’ themselves.

6. Year of the Dragon | 1964, 1976, 1988, 2000

The sole imaginary creature in the Chinese zodiac, Dragons are fiery and confident and suit a trip to the rugged terrain of the mountains in Cape Town, South Africa where they can challenge themselves to a climb.

2019 is going to be an amazing year for relationships (especially with a Dragon or Monkey). Hence, they should plan a romantic city getaway to Spain or Portugal and surprise their loved one to a romantic hotel, sunset cocktails at a rooftop bar, and some retail therapy. Who knows, after all that time spent together, they might just seal the deal and tie the knot.

7. Year of the Snake | 1965, 1977, 1989, 2001

Snakes are peaceful types who shy away from noisy places and become quite easily stressed in chaotic situations. 2019 might prove to be a challenging year them but travelling might be more beneficial to them. A trip to Greece to see the Acropolis of Athens or a trip to see the Mekong River in Vietnam may help Snakes overcome their challenges they might be facing. Even a staycation in Singapore will be beneficial for them.

8. Year of the Horse | 1966, 1978, 1990, 2002

Horses love energetic, crowded cities so hop on a flight to the dizzying streets of Bangkok where you can lose yourself in the markets of Chatuchak in Bangkok, Thailand.  2019 will be an excellent year for every aspect of their lives. They should enjoy their fruits of their labour with a trip to Tasmania and get that instagram-worthy shot of the Tasmanian Devil. If you want something a little more off the beaten track, a trip to Argentina is also a great option for our dear mustangs.

9. Year of the Goat | 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003

Goats might be in for a challenging year ahead in all aspects of their life. This doesn’t mean they should stay home and brood. A trip to New York with their best pals to experience the amazing Manhattan culture will provide them with some reprieve from their daily lives.

If New York is too far, a short trip to Korea to catch the cherry blossom will be just as effective to reduce the stress that Goats have to shoulder. Kuala Lumpur is another destination for Goats to clear their heads while still being within their budget as they should be prudent with their spending for the year.

10. Year of the Monkey | 1968, 1980, 1992, 2004

2019 is a great year for Monkeys as they are potentially in the running for a promotion or pay rise so they can afford to take a couple of memorable breaks. This is important as Monkeys generally spend more time at work than others. They can head to Auckland to recharge their batteries in the gorgeous towns, bays and wineries of Waiheke Island.

Monkeys tend to steer clear from beaches and like to be active on holiday and generally prefer city breaks to rural getaways. This year they can treat themselves to energetic cities like Brazil where you can get lost in crowds and spend endless days exploring. As Monkeys are naturally fast learners, they could head to Canada to learn how to ski.

11. Year of the Rooster | 1969, 1981, 1993, 2005

Chatty Roosters are never short of friends and love the limelight and make good companions for group travel so in 2019 round up a group of mates and head for an adventure by snapping up deals to Hong Kong, Taiwan, or Phillipines.

With good academic prospects for the year, Roosters should consider going overseas to countries such as Hungary to further their studies or for exchange studies. Roosters might be prone to the common cold so they should load up on that Vitamin C and a trip to the white sandy beaches of Boracay for their dose of Vitamin D.

12. Year of the Dog | 1958, 1970, 1982, 1994, 2006

2019 is looking especially good for romance for Dogs, especially for those who are wanting to tie the know. They should take the initiative to wow their loved one with a trip to the beautiful and culture-rich Spain and sample the best Tapas, or explore the bright lights of Shibuya and catch the blooming sakura in dynamic Tokyo (if you are with a Rabbit or Horse then things will be electricfying!). The year might not look so hot healthwise for Dogs so find equilibrium with a peaceful vacation in the white sandy beaches in Maldives to rest and relax.
