Lovely Brittish inn

I stayed at the Devizes Inn for two nights. The room was spacious, clean and had a very Brittish feel (as did the pub downstairs :)).
Besides the pub downstairs it is located in a quiet area, just a short walk outside of Salisbury centre.
Obviously, when staying here you will hear some noise from the pub, but personally this didn't bother me.
Great place to stay when visiting Old Sarum, Stonehenge and/or Salisbury.
Penny is lovely, and a very early check-out was no problem.

Good value, but needs refurb

On the plus side: the price was right, with breakfast included. We were worried about noise (Boxing Day), but we didn't hear anything beyond a rhythmic beat from the bar below (we got to sleep quite quickly in spite of that). The bed was excellent and firm.
It was a very windy night (not their fault!), but the windows were loose enough that they made a lot of noise with the stronger gusts: after a few loud bangs, I was able to jam something in to stop the racket.
On the more negative side: there was no bulb in the bedside lamp, the electrical sockets adjacent to the one used for the kettle were dangerous (connections were too loose -- I should have mentioned this upon leaving), the wallpaper on the ceiling was falling off (there were water marks from roof leaks). The bathroom could be painted to cover over older mildew problems (again from leaks).
All that said, it was reasonably-priced; it is conveniently-located; we slept well; the service was good and the breakfast saved us a few quid....

Hotel fit the bill

Wanted a good value hotel for a long weekend in Salisbury, this hotel fit the bill. There is a small parking area for up to 3 cars behind the pub, very little space down the street so you need to let the owners know if you need a parking space. On arrival we were shown up to the larger family room, with a double and a single bed, tv, tea and coffee facilities, towels and couple of bars of soap. Decor is a bit tired, but all was very clean and tidy, it may be personal preference but the bed was a bit soft for our liking. The water in the en suite bathroom was VERY hot, shower fine. Also a glass for water would be useful in the room. We were given keys for the back doors so could come and go as we pleased. The pub was busy with locals in early evening, also Saturday afternoon sounded quite rowdy with possibly the pub football team back after a game. The walk into town was only around 15 mins across a busy roundabout and past the train station, which was fine for us even in the rain! Breakfast was a full English every morning and tea or coffee, no other options offered and I'm not sure if they were available. All staff were pleasant although we didn't see them much as we were out all day. Overall a good stay, would probably return if we were back in the area.

A pleasant stay

i stayed here a couple of nights while visiting Salisbury. The pub is handy for the station but only about 10 mins walk from the town centre. Despite being a pub I did not hear any noise from the bar to disturb my sleep

Excellent value for money, lovely owner, amazing breakfast!

We booked a room here as we were visiting Salisbury to see a comedian so we wanted somewhere close to the City Hall and centre which this is (10 minute walk).
Devizes Inn was much cheaper than other places in the area so we booked and went along.
The lady that owns the pub (I didnt catch her name!) was lovely, so friendly and couldnt do enough for us, she even got us a map to show us where we needed to walk and go.
The room was lovely, large room with a comfortable double bed, a pull out TV on the wall, tea and coffee, nice bathroom with small tubes of shampoo, conditioner, and shower gel.
It is above a pub so there is *some* noise but we requested a quieter room and I have to say upon our return at 11pm there wasnt any noise and we slept very well.
There is parking outside the pub and also in the surrounding roads at the weekend which is free.
Our breakfast was bought to our room at 9.30am as agreed.. 2 glasses of Orange juice, 4 slices of toast, freid egg, hash browns, beans and sausages.. delicious!!
I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for a comfortable room, excellent hospitality and a good location. Thank you for a lovely stay!
