Great Central Hostel
We spent 5 nights at the Space Hostel. The rooms were very clean and pretty much what you see in the photos. The staff were always very polite and friendly. We had the odd problem but things were sorted quickly by Ahmed and staff. The hostel is central with plenty of places to eat within a short walk and the area seems safe no problems. I would highly recommend to people on a budget. Don't be put off by the entrance.

Hotel more than ok..Very good
Welcoming and smile guaranteed from the beginning and comfort is really relaxing Everything is thought through in the rooms so that the guest feels comfortable and forgets that he is in 1 hotel Cleanliness of the rooms that reflect the kindness that guests have for their residents.
Quality of the products in the bathrooms as well as in the accessories included in the room. The icing on the cake excellent breakfast served in the room for 1 moment of relaxation before the excursions. Memorably positive stay ..and especially the cleanliness..remarkable

Plain Hostel nearby the Tahrir Square
I opted for this Hostel as it convinced me with the location and the honesty, which could be challenging in Cairo in this pricing category.
The first thing: The entrance and the stairway aren't that inviting, but they do have a lift as well, as the Hostel is located in the 6th floor.
They welcomed me warmly and the Check-In was smooth.
The room wasn't spacious, but it definitly fulfilled my needs. It was clean and cozy.
I did like the coziness and the WiFi, which was surprisingly stable. The shower was good, but mind you water spill, unless the floor will be soaked.
I did receive one towel for 4 days, but I bring my own as well.
Anyhow, it can be noisy in the evening hours, so you might bring some earplugs, if you are sensitive.
The location is a super plus as the Metro is just a jump away and you can easily call Ubers (e.g. for a Gizeh trip).
In total a great price-performance-ratio.
In terms of breakfast: They bring you the plate into your room, also at your desired time.

Excellent
Pension incredibly well placed. Very good Award. Do not trust the entrance because when you get into the building you will see the surprise. Great air-conditioned room. Great shower. Bravo . The staff is very kind. Feel free to have a coffee downstairs. The bartender is top
