Great location for black history. The South side of town is very eccentric, but interesting. There are a lot of restaurants and shopping off of highway 280.

We found at least one good restaurant and Sloss Furnaces and both made the city pretty interesting, its history is possibly my favorite part.

The Birmingham Zoo and Botanical Gardens across from the zoo are GREAT places to see when in Birmingham!!
