Located 28 km northeast of Tawau, Tawau Airport is the second international airport in the state of Sabah in Malaysia after Kota Kinabalu International Airport.It is the main gateway for travellers going to the scenic mountain parks and popular diving islands of Sipadan, Mabul and Kapalai.

Tawau Tanjung Market
With over 6,000 stalls, the Tawau Tanjung Market is said to be the largest indoor market in Malaysia. At the ground floor of this bustling market, you can find foodstuff such as the popular Tawau dried seafood, fresh fruits, keropok amplang, Indonesian-made dried crackers, and other fresh produce. For local wooden crafts and decorative items such as hand-woven baskets, placemats and other souvenirs, you can walk up to the second floor. Tawau Tanjung Market is accessible by taxi or bus.
Maliau Basin Conservation Area
Also known as Sabah’s Lost World, trekkers and photography enthusiasts will definitely enjoy the Maliau Basin. This 590 sq. kmforest park is a popular destination for jungle trekking and bird watching. One of the highlights of the adventure is to trek to the breathtaking 7-tier Maliau Falls. Tawau Hills National Park
Located 24 km from Tawau, is another park created to protect water catchment resources. Activities include a lowland gardens, jungle trekking, camping, visiting the Table Waterfall with a natural swimming pool, and the mountain trails which covers two mountains, Gunung Magdalena and Gunung Lucia.
