Best Time to Visit Medan
The climate is fairly consistent throughout the year at around 20 to 30 degree Celsius in Medan, Indonesia and therefore it is a great time to visit Medan. Do note that the rainfall is higher in September and December so if you are interested in exploring the outskirts of the city or nature parks, those are the months to avoid. While it is generally a great time to visit the city all year round, make sure you avoid the public holidays as it is not uncommon to see accommodation prices surging during these periods.
Things to do in Medan
Medan is home to various impressive cultural shrines and mosques. Make sure you pay a visit to the Marian Shrine of Annai Velangkanni and the Medan Grand Mosque while you are there. A popular spot for a day-trip from the city of Medan is Lake Toba (approximately 4 hours away by car) which is more commonly known as Danau Toba amongst the locals.
