The main airport serving Kaliningrad in Russia is Khrabrovo Airport, located 24km north of the seaport city's centre. While it handles scheduled commercial flights, part of the airport still serves as a military base of the Russian Air Force.
Kaliningrad Zoo - Originally the Königsberg Tiergarten when it was founded in 1896, the Kaliningrad Zoo is one of the oldest zoological gardens as well as the largest of its kind in Russia. Cathedral of Christ the Saviour - The cathedral can be found on the northern bank of the Moska River, southwest of the Kremlin in Moscow. Museum of the World Ocean - Kaliningrad holds the main building of the Museum of the World Ocean, which is a Republican Centre for scientific research and methodological work that is focused on the history of exploration as well as the development of the World Ocean. Through their exhibitions of vessels, ship models, scientific illustrations, maps, and everything else marine, this cultural centre aims to link shores, cultures, and people.
How to get around within Kaliningrad
Getting around Kaliningrad is not very difficult, as there are tram, bus, minibus, and trolleybus networks available. The most efficient way to travel within the city of Kaliningrad is by bus, as you can just hop right in one and purchase inexpensive tickets from the conductor on board. Should you need a taxi, you can either have a meter gauge the fare or negotiate with the driver in advance. For long distance travels, catch a train at the Severny vozkal or Yuzhny vozkal stations.
