Hua Hin Airport serves Hua Hin, a beautiful coastal town in the province of Prachuap Khiri Khan. Located along Thailand’s southwestern coastline, Hua Hin faces out into the Gulf of Thai-land and is popular as a holiday destination with both locals and foreigners. Hua Hin Airport is located only about 6 kilometres from the main town centre, and is a rather small air facility served only by 1 airline - Kan Air, a domestic Thai air carrier offering direct flights to Chiang Mai (as of March 2017). Though regularly scheduled flights to Bangkok were once offered, these have since been suspended. The airport itself consists of 1 terminal with 2 storeys.

What to see and do

Thailand is known for its many amazing beach and coastal offerings, but few know that Hua Hin was actually one of the country’s very first seaside resort towns. If there, don’t miss a visit to the picturesque Hua Hin beach. A 3-kilometres stretch of clean white sand and clear blue seawater, Hua Hin Beach is adorned with swaying palm trees and serviced by numerous beach resorts. Besides sunbathing and typical beach-bum activities, you can also indulge in a spot of water-sports or horse riding if you get bored. Another must-see is Klai Kang won Palace, once the royal summer residence of the recently deceased King Bhumibol Adulyadej. The beautiful palace was built in the 1920s by King Rama VII and is designed as a Spanish-style estate. Facing out into Hua Hin Beach, the palace’s name translates to ‘far from worries’ in English and served as the royal family’s home away from home, a secluded and tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of city life.
