Best Time to Visit Belo Horizonte
Like much of the Southern Hemisphere, Belo Horizonte enjoys warm tropical weather throughout the year. As such, there’s almost no bad time to visit if you’re looking for sun and heat. December is known as the rainiest month, however, so either bring along wet-weather wear or plan your holiday for the other 11 months of the year.
The most popular season to go, though, is no doubt the early months of the year - also known as Brazil’s Carnival season. The massive street parades that have come to characterize the country takes place in almost all major cities, and are usually held between January to March. Festivities leading up to the Carnival can begin weeks before the actual parade and infects the whole city with a tangible sense of excitement and exuberance.
Do note, though, that hotel prices are also steepest during the Carnival months.
