Also within the city is a regional museum depicting the long history and exhibiting the artefacts recovered in archaeological work.

The airport also has a military sector. The government of Burkina Faso plans for construction of a new airport 30 kilometres north of Ouagadougou, due to Ouagadougou outgrowing its capacity constraints.
