Ninoy Aquino International Airport, Manila

Manila Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) is Metro Manila’s official airport, and one of the main gateways to the Philippines. Located 7 km away from the capital, this airport is fast growing and highly competitive. In recent years, it broke personal records for its passenger capacity and traffic.

As one of the top 40 busiest airports in the world, it has 4 terminals dedicated to international flights, Philippine Airlines flights and all other domestic flights. The international terminal serves famous and major airlines like Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Emirates, Qatar Airways and Qantas. Popular budget airlines like Jetstar Asia Airways also fly to this terminal. With 16 gates in total, travellers arriving here can expect an efficient and smooth travelling experience. They can also admire the architecture of this international terminal, which was designed by Philippines’ National Artist for Architecture Leandro Locsin.

An airport shuttle service takes you from one terminal to another. Approach the buses at the Main Arrival Curbside at any time of day to head to Terminals 2, 3 and 4 free of charge. If you are rushing or would like to avoid crowds, take the airport metered taxi or coupon taxi, which charge a flat rate. Be sure to flag down only the official or pre-booked taxis.

Banks, post office and telecommunication services are available at the airport. If you need to convert your money into pesos, or an urgent transaction suddenly cropped up -- banks and foreign currency exchange operators are accessible around the international terminal. They are available at both arrivals and departures areas. Alternatively, if would like to withdraw some quick cash, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs) are around as well. Send a postcard to your loved ones to tell them you are safe at the Airport Post Office in Terminal 1, or drop your mail at the post box on the Departure level.

For some personal time or relaxation space, use the passenger lounge. Smoking lounges are allocated for travellers at the Arrivals area. Refresh yourself with beverages while you watch cable television or browse through magazines.  You can also avail yourself of duty-free shopping on your way to the boarding areas, and buy some last-minute souvenirs.

Christians and Muslims can stop for a moment of prayer as there is a chapel at Terminal 1, a Muslim prayer room beside it, and a church about 500m away!

Apart from the Manila Airport Hotel, there are a few other hotels such as the DG Budget Hotel which is less than a kilometre away, and slightly further away, Isabelle Garden Hotel and Suites, and Domestic Guesthouse.
