Colonel Hill Airport is also known as Crooked Island Airport, as the airport and the town of Colonel Hill is situated on Crooked Island in the Bahamas. The island is part of the Bight of Acklins lagoon, of which it is one of the largest islands, together with Acklins. The smaller islands in the lagoon are Long Cay (formerly Fortune Island) and Castle Island. Colonel Hill on Crooked Island is the main town in the said group of islands.

The only airline that provides scheduled passenger service to and from Colonel Hill Airport is Bahamasair. It connects Crooked Island to Spring Point via Spring Point Airport, and Nassau via Lynden Pindling International Airport, the largest airport in the Bahamas.
