The Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport, on the island of Java, is the main airport in Jakarta and probably one of Southeast Asia’s busiest air hub. Singaporeans entering Indonesia are entitled to 30-day visa free status. The airport is open 24 hours, 7 days a week.
There are three main terminal buildings at the airport -- Terminal 1 caters to domestic flights only, Terminal 2 caters to international flights and Garuda Airlines domestic flights and Terminal 3 caters to Asia international and domestic flights.
There are 24-hour information counters in all the terminals where passengers can go to request for more information about the country or to make hotel and tour reservations.
Services and Facilities
Lounge. There are 6 different lounges available at the airport, offering refreshments, entertainment and shower facilities to passengers for a nominal fee. The Premier Lounge is open throughout the day and offers passengers a nice space to relax and chill. The lounge is open 2 hours before the first flight until 30 minutes after the last departure.
WiFi/Internet Services. At the moment, WiFi service is only available in Terminal 2. Terminal 1 is due to be equipped with WiFi services soon.
Business & Conference. There are executive areas located in the transit lounge in the departure areas of Terminal 2 and within a number of airline lounges at the airport. There is also a VIP lounge located in the departure area of Terminal 1. Meeting rooms are available for hire at the nearby Sheraton Bandara and in the onsite Jakarta Airport Hotel in Terminal 2.
Shopping. Duty-free shopping is available in Terminal 2. Terminal 1 and 3 are equipped with a selection of shops and gift retailers.
General Services. Terminals 1 and 2 are equipped with banks, ATMs and foreign exchange counters. Post offices and telecommunication services as well as telephones are available for use in both the terminals. The waiting lounges offers free local dialing. There is a baby care room in Terminal 2 and a number of prayer rooms within both the terminals. First aid facilities are available from the administrative offices in all the terminals.
Dining Facilities. There are restaurants and cafes offering local and international cuisine in the various terminals.
Car Rental Facilities. There are car rental counters such as Avis, Bluebird and Europcar offering car rental services at the arrival halls.
Transit Hotels. There is only one on-site hotel available at the Jakarta Soekarno-Hatta International Airport with hotel reservation desks situated in all terminals. For a luxurious stay, the Sheraton Bandara is the place to be with a golf course, spa and fitness centre. Orchardz Hotel and Jakarta Airport Hotel are two hotels offering mid-range but spacious accommodation, spa and an indoor pool. For the budget-conscious, POP! Hotel Airport Jakarta offers a cheap option and complimentary airport shuttle.
